A Message from Taz, I-Hos Gallery Manager

Spring of Growth and Ch-ch-changes

Hi! My name is Taz and I’m the new I-Hos Gallery Manager. I’m deeply passionate about the well-being of the I-Hos Gallery and our community.

Two and a half years ago, Molina asked me to work at the gallery as a sales clerk and, under Kat’s mentorship, I became the preparator.

Last month I accepted the position of Gallery Manager. It’s been a whirlwind of changes over here and I’m excited for what’s on the horizon.

It’s a Sign!

The I-Hos Gallery has installed two new signs alongside the existing signage on Comox Road.

We anticipate attracting more tourists with them, while also encouraging local residents to visit and support the gallery. Early results have been positive, with several new customers mentioning, “I always pass by this place, but I’ve never been in.”

I-Hos Gallery Bursary Fund

I-Hos will be announcing the two recipients of the I-Hos Gallery Bursary Fund at the National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration event.

We will be selling the orange t-shirts designed by Rachelle Antoine and the orange sweatshirts designed by Jeanette Laberge at our vendor booth.

These apparel items are how we raised almost $2,000 for the bursary fund.

If you have already purchased one, thank you for supporting Indigenous artists.

If you haven’t purchased one yet, we would love to see you at our booth.
